Ordering
How do I place an order?
Open Products, choose how you want to buy (by the pack or by the piece), tap Add to cart, then open your cart and check out. You need a free account to check out.
What is the difference between wholesale and retail?
Wholesale means buying by the pack (for example a box of seasoning cubes). Retail means buying single pieces. The price is shown before you add the item to your cart.
Do I need an account to order?
Yes. A free account lets us deliver to the right address, show your order history and give you rewards. You can still browse and fill your cart without logging in.
Will my cart still be there if I log in on another phone?
Yes. When you are logged in, your cart is saved to your account, so it is there on any phone or computer you log in on.
Payment
How do I pay?
You pay online through Monime using mobile money (Orange Money or Afrimoney). We never see or store your mobile money PIN.
I paid but my order does not show as paid. What now?
Contact us with your order number on WhatsApp or by phone and we will check it straight away.
What if I leave the payment page without paying?
No money is taken and the order is not confirmed. You can try again from My Orders or My Payments.
Delivery
Where do you deliver and what does it cost?
We deliver within Freetown. The standard delivery fee is Le 30 per order, and Le 15 when your items total more than Le 1,000. The fee can be higher depending on your location; we confirm it with you after your order is reviewed.
How will I know when my order is coming?
After you pay, we call you on the phone number on your account to arrange delivery. Please keep your phone with you and make sure your number and address are correct.
Something is damaged, wrong or missing.
Please contact us as soon as possible, ideally the same day, with your order number so we can put it right.
Wholesale & quotes
I want to buy in large quantities. What should I do?
Use Get a Quote. Tell us what you need and we will call you with prices and availability. A quote is an estimate, not an order.
Do you supply restaurants, bakeries and shops?
Yes. Koju Black Spice supplies homes, restaurants, bakeries, caterers, hotels, shops and other food businesses in Freetown.
Account & security
Why do I have to verify my email?
When you create an account we email you an 8-digit code and an Auto verify my account button. Using either one proves the email is yours. They work for 15 minutes; after that, log in and we will send a new one.
What makes a good password?
At least 9 characters with a capital letter, a number and a special character such as ! @ # $ %. Keep it private.
I forgot my password.
On the Login page choose Forgot password. We will email you a link to set a new one.
Is my information safe?
Passwords are stored in a protected (hashed) form, the website talks to our server over an encrypted connection, and we do not sell your information.
Rewards
How do rewards work?
Your first order gets 10% off. Three paid orders (each above Le 100, totalling at least Le 350) earn 5% off your next order. Receiving and reviewing a delivered order earns 2%. Total payments of Le 500, Le 1,000 and Le 2,000 earn 2%, 5% and 10% off your next order.
Can I use more than one reward on an order?
No. Only one reward is applied to an order, always the biggest one available. Discounts apply to the products, not to delivery.
